Subscription Options & Fees

Guru is one of the most professional of the service marketplaces. With size over 520,000 professionals /freelancers, and over 30,000 employers/ businesses, this is a site every freelancer must be registered with. Whatever your specialization, you can be sure that the site has a wealth of projects in your field.

The Basic membership is FREE and can be used to get familiar with the site's suitability for you. But to get the real benefits, you must choose Guru membership - a fee based subscription option of two types - Guru and Guru Vendor.

Special Features

1. Guru's minimum bid is set at $25 for any project, and it follows what's called a "closed auction" type of bidding, meaning no one competing for a project can see their competitors' bids. Your bids for a project can be based either on hourly rates or the total project cost. This site also allows you to submit your proposals with basic HTML formatting for a professional-looking bid.

2. Professionals can view project invitations, manage proposals and bids, communicate with employers, manage profiles, create invoices, give and check feedback, view and modify account information, and navigate to the Resource and information sections of the website from a central page.

3. Once a project's finished, it's usually uploaded to the temporary "Workroom," which is only accessible to the contracted parties. An optional escrow service protects the mutual investments of both the freelancers and the companies buying their services--a very important service when both parties are in different cities or even halfway round the world.

4. Portfolio/Solution Search What are Solutions? They are examples of projects you can easily customize and recreate for future clients. If you upload and update your Solutions, employers can:
Locate your work samples by performing Solution category, price, and industry searches.
Review the profile associated with your Solutions.
Invite you to provide quotes for their projects.
